Dear Friends,

The wolf will live with the lamb,
The leopard will lie down with the goat,
The calf and the lion and the yearling together;
And a little child will lead them.
Isaiah 11:6-9

In my dreams, a child beckons me to rally a cry for justice for the weary souls of children and to dream of the possible:

When the white supremacist
loves his brother of color

When the chauvinist
sees wisdom in plural causes

When men and women
share equally the responsibility of being God's image bearers

When the strong allow
that they are weak, and the weak lend strength to the strong

When finally children, children around the world
suffering with HIV/AIDS "lead us" into the ways of righteousness

You, the supporters of REACH help make some of that dream come true – you are making a difference by arousing enthusiasm, allowing and providing opportunities for children to be mentored, to receive values-based education, to be loved, to have courage, to feel safe, and strengthened here and around the world.

The prophet Isaiah and you encourage me to believe that dreams can become reality; that together we are on the right track by responding to God's call to hear the cry of children, "do justice" and "love mercy" for their weary souls and dream the possible.
